Cell Phone Trends – Is Red the new…PINK?!

Oh no, say anything but… is pink out in the mobile world? Sure, T-Mobile (Mr. Pink themselves) and Verizon, Sprint… have great new phones in pink (stay tuned for some of these)… but AT&T (a bit of a leader since the iPhone) only has slightly older models in the shade(s).

With them, and others too (eek!) what abounds is a sea of red. Is red really the new chic color for girls…huh?

Well if you’re a pink warrior like I, you don’t need to fret whatever your carrier is…. there are usually pink snug-fitting cases/faceplates for at least the most popular or coolest models or shapes. (And the shape/opening style is one actually more important feature, thanks to availability of covers, yes I must admit).

Example, this transparent hot pink case for the (AT&T) Pantech Duo from EliteExtreme.

So you shouldn’t delay when in need of upgrading your old phone. (Older models are faster obsolete with the new 3G, in my speculation.) Find your best “fit” and browse for some fitting & flattering shaded case. Who knows, you might prefer a black & white polka dot cellie instead! There’s a world of imagined possibilities out there. Phones can be like clothes. (And that’s why this blog exists.)

The Ogio Chassy laptop bag struck me for a few reasons. 1. It’s pink. 2. Tons of pockets, and I quote, “jewelry / make-up / no – boys – allowed pockets.” Wow, that’s some serious marketing.

There are also “back panel mail and receipts file pocket – rear fold-out water bottle pocket.” Heavy duty perfection.

Tip: This bag is does not convert into a backpack, as some images make it appear. I wish it would, because I’ve realized I need the support sporting heavy machinery. Maybe in the next collection!

Acme iPod Wallet

[Via Chip Chick:] I prefer a perfect-fit case for all possible iPod accessories, or at least something large enough. But the special thing about the Acme iPod Wallet is that it come in all colors to match iPods.

All colors can be ordered to fit the regular and mini iPods; pastel lime, pink, blue and black with pastel interior or really nifty perforated leather in assorted/red trim. Prices start at $35 for a mini sized case.

They even fit the standard ear buds and offer full-sides protection.

It is really stylish and luxurious, too, besides the colors. Its exterior is Italian leather, with a soft-as-cashmere, washable microseude lining.

Of course, there are practical features, such as the open ends for play while in case and the necessary velcro closure (to protect the hard drive).

(I show the green here and not the pink, because hey, not everything need be the girliest (I like green!), but also because it best displays the color matching.)

[Via Chip Chick] Look! It’s the laptop user’s version of a Balenciaga, with a $1,375 price tag to match.

Oh, please. Studs are so 2005. It ain’t that cute, with no feminine details (or spot of pink in sight). Wait, though, the “Mahogany” is beautiful. But it’s still not for me. And I’m not just mad at it because of the cost. Not just.
